Though all the Care-A-Vanners are retired from
long careers, these folks love to work. Jack and Pat Settles of Dayton, Ohio, are the 2003
Care-A-Vanners' foremen: "Volunteering for Habitat, helping people in need, is a
continuation of my faith." Seeing the looks on the new homeowners' faces at a
dedication makes their labors worthwhile. The Care-A-Vanners program is open to all
RV'ers. The RV'ers call a toll free number in Americus, Georgia, to volunteer for builds.
The RV desk coordinator assigns them to the build they're requesting and gives their names
and contact information to the Care-A-Vanner team leaders for that build.
